ZOMBA AIR BASE CONDUCTS HILL CLIMBING EXERCISE TO BOOST FITNESS AND READINESS

On Thursday, 9 July 2026, Zomba Air Base (ZAB) of the Malawi Air Force (MAF) conducted a comprehensive hill climbing exercise involving all troops stationed at the base. This activity is part of the routine military physical training program designed to enhance physical fitness, mental resilience, and overall wellness among personnel.

Led by Acting Base Commander Lieutenant Colonel Amin Kalinga, the exercise saw enthusiastic participation from officers and airmen alike. The Acting Base Commander praised the troops for their commitment and highlighted the critical role of physical fitness in military professionalism. He emphasized that the demanding nature of military operations requires personnel to be physically robust and mentally resilient to operate effectively in challenging environments.

Lieutenant Colonel Kalinga also announced that such physical conditioning activities will be regularly conducted to maintain high standards of fitness, discipline, and operational readiness.
