The Malawi Navy in Monkey Bay, Mangochi, on 24 September 2026 hosted its annual Inter-Religious Prayers under the theme "Unity in Diversity," drawn from Revelation 7:9 and Qur'an 49:13.
Clergy, military personnel and members of the surrounding community gathered as one, setting aside their different faiths to share a single act of prayer, fellowship and reflection.
Together, they prayed for the good health and wellbeing of people across Malawi, and for wisdom and guidance for the country's leaders and those entrusted with leading the Malawi Defence Force (MDF).
Special prayers were lifted for MDF members serving on missions within and outside the country; for their safety, strength and a safe return to their families.
The congregation also gave generously during the service, with proceeds going to Monkey Bay Health Centre to help the facility continue caring for the local community.
